Sunday Worship, including Junior Church
Most of our worship services on a Sunday morning are quite traditional, with a mix of hymns, prayers, readings and a sermon/ address, all of which is hoped and aimed to be meaningful for our lives.
Theologically we are on the liberal spectrum, understanding the Bible to be a book which needs to be interpreted for our time and not understood in a literal, letter-by-letter way.
All of our churches worship Sunday mornings at 10:30 am, which means that we have a lot of guest ministers, retired or lay preachers and also worship group services, to cover our four services each Sunday. This brings a variety in style, which we like.
All Age Worship
Every third Sunday in the month at Chingford URC, there is a service for everybody: 'all age worship'. There is music and lots of stuff to do; it's more experimental and not so long!
Junior Church
Junior Church is held every Sunday (apart from Sundays of 'all age worship' - see above) at Chingford URC and Woodford Green URC. There is a joint start with the adults, then the children split into two groups by age, after some good musical noise with the “hymn of the month”.
