Forest Group URC - Coronavirus Update

​We follow the government’s advice and await further guidance.

Until then:
1) All services and weekly groups will go ahead as planned, following URC and CofE practical considerations. 

a) Hand washing and keeping body distance:

• Signs in our church entrances remind everybody to wash hands when entering and leaving the building
• For larger gatherings, we keep one chair free between people
• All door handles, light switches, water taps, etc are being disinfected on a regular basis

b) Holy Communion

• For the time being, we will use wafers instead of bread. These will be placed on a plate, which will have been cleaned with hot soapy water, and will be distributed by the serving minister who will wear latex gloves
• Elders will offer non-alcoholic wine in small individual cups as always

c) Hospitality: tea/ coffee/ biscuits and joint lunches

• Hospitality teams will wear gloves when serving teas/ coffees after church
• Biscuits served only in individual wrapping
• Lunches to be postponed until further notice

2) If you are ill and need to self- isolate:

• We would like to help. Call an Elder or Ulrike, and we can organise for someone to help with your shopping or other errands, or we can chat on the phone
• Why not check out worship services on TV, online or on the radio, eg Radio 4 or Premier Christian Radio

3) Local Community

a) Please support your local Foodbank: demand will rise when schools will be closed and children eligible for free school meals will go hungry
 
b) In your street: if you are able, reach out to your immediate neighbours, maybe sending something like the postcard below through your neighbours’ letter boxes.
